 Art has always been a big part of my life. and I cannot recall a moment when I did not paint or draw.

 Even while a serving police officer and raising a family I always had a painting on the go.

 Now retired I feel incredibly lucky to be able to do what I enjoy most. Usually travelling around with my  sketchbook and camera or visiting galleries and exhibitions for the sheer delight in studying paintings.

 On occasions I enjoy the solitary side of being an artist and find a rainy day in my 'den' with a mug of tea  and some background music is my perfect creative environment.

 Preferring traditional oils or watercolours I draw inspiration from landscapes, seascapes, figurative and  still life subjects. I am drawn to colour and light and the wish to capture the moment or tell a narrative.

 I have exhibited at local and regional events winning several awards and commendations, selling  paintings and obtaining the odd commission as a result.
